What makes a roadster
A roadster is an open two-seater, built for driving more than for carrying. Purists say it has a simple folding hood or none at all, and the word has been used that way since the 1920s. Spider and spyder mean much the same thing in Italian and German usage. A convertible is wider: any car whose roof comes off, including four-seaters.
