Endurance racing posters
Apex at Dawn from £15.99. Free UK delivery.
Endurance racing is the romantic discipline: long hours, low sun, the long game. Apex at Dawn is the opening lap of that story, a 1930s open-wheel racer cresting the hill at sunrise in ochre, cream and signal red. Pit Lane, 1955 is the stop between stints: mechanics swarm a stripped racer under warm lamplight, among oil cans and stacked tyres.
The dawn and lamplight palettes are unusually easy to live with. They read as calm rather than loud, which is why endurance art suits living rooms and offices that would reject a brighter racing poster. The Hairpin adds the energy of the drive itself.
If you have done a long stint of your own, a track day or a road trip through the night, Your car as art gives your car the night drive treatment from a single photo, with a free preview first.

Why endurance racing looks the way it does
Endurance races run for 6, 12 or 24 hours, and teams share each car between two or three drivers. The first famous 24-hour race ran in France in 1923, and the format has kept its shape since. A car that wins has to be fast, but it also has to stop for fuel, tyres and a driver change, and keep going through the night. That is why the pictures people love are of dawn, headlights and the pit lane.
| Moment in the race | What it looks like | The print |
|---|---|---|
| The start | Full grid, afternoon light | The Hairpin |
| Through the night | Headlights, lamplight in the pits | Pit Lane, 1955 |
| Dawn | Low sun, mist over the track | Apex at Dawn |
| The finish | Tired cars, crews on the pit wall | Your car as art, for your own track day |

Endurance prints are calm enough for a living room. Hang Apex at Dawn and Pit Lane, 1955 side by side at A3 for a night-and-day pair, or one at 50 x 70 cm above a desk.
