Car poster sizes, explained

Every car poster we print comes in three sizes — A3, A2 and 50×70 cm — and the right one depends on the wall, not the artwork. Here is the honest sizing logic we use ourselves.

A3 — 29.7 × 42 cm

The desk-and-shelf size. A3 works above a workspace, on a gallery wall of several prints, or in tight spots between furniture. It is also the natural size for the Silhouette Era set — four A3s in a row make a timeline of car design across one wall. Paper sizes follow the international ISO 216 standard, so A3 frames are everywhere and cheap.

A2 — 42 × 59.4 cm

The sofa-and-bed size. A2 holds its own above a headboard or a two-seater, and it is the size where fine detail starts to pay off — the linework in our blueprint car art reads properly at arm's length from A2 up.

50 × 70 cm — the statement

The feature-wall size. If the print is the room's main event — a man cave centrepiece, an empty stair wall — 50×70 cm is the minimum that commands the space. Garages and dens with viewing distance want this size; see our man cave wall art guide for layout ideas.

Custom prints and resolution

Printing your own photo via the Paint Shop or direct photo print? We require 150 dpi at print size and check your file automatically — any size that would print soft is blocked before you pay, not after.

Is A3 big enough for a bedroom wall?+

Above a desk or bedside, yes. Above a double bed or sofa, A3 looks lost — go A2 or 50×70 cm.

What is the difference between A2 and 50×70 cm?+

A2 is 42×59.4 cm; 50×70 cm is roughly 18% larger in both directions and matches common off-the-shelf frame sizes in Europe.

What resolution does my photo need for each size?+

We require at least 150 dpi at print size: roughly 1754×2480 px for A3, 2480×3508 px for A2, and 2953×4134 px for 50×70 cm. We check automatically before you pay.
