An early racer at sunrise, in flat retro poster colours
Apex at Dawn is built from big, flat shapes. A half sun in bands of orange, coral and deep teal sits low over pale, sandy hills, and a red open-wheel racer comes over the brow towards you, its driver in a leather helmet and goggles. Behind it a cloud of dust rolls out in cream and soft gold. There is hardly any shading and no fussy detail, just colour and movement, the way the old motor-race posters were drawn.
It suits anyone who loves the early days of motor racing, when the cars were long, narrow and loud and the driver sat out in the open air. The colours are warm and the shapes are simple, so it is easy to live with. It works in a kitchen, a hallway or a home office, and you can read it clearly from across the room.
The picture is tall, so the framed poster shows all of it, the sun and the road included. The wider formats, like canvas, crop in to the car and its dust trail. If they would like to see their own car on the wall instead, custom car art starts from one photo of it.
