Classic American car prints
Apex at Dawn from £15.99. Free UK delivery.
Classic American car prints trade on a specific dream: big chrome, long bonnets, golden light. Deco Metropolis is the city version of that dream, an elegant coupe before stepped Art Deco skyscrapers and a stylised moon, in midnight blue, gold and cream. The Workshop tells the other half of the story: a classic up on the lift, tools on the wall, dust in the golden light, where the good hours go.
Warm workshop tones and Deco gold are the warmest colours in our collection, made for rooms with wood and leather. These prints also travel well as gifts: you need no knowledge of cars to enjoy them.
If the family classic is sitting on your drive, the watercolour and garage noir styles in Your car as art were practically built for it. Deco Metropolis is in the shop, not in the grid below.

The look of the classic American car
When people say classic American car, most picture the 1950s: long, low bodies, wraparound windscreens, two-tone paint and a lot of chrome. Tail fins grew every year from the late 1940s and peaked around 1959, then shrank fast in the early 1960s. Before that, the 1930s brought the streamlined, Art Deco shape that Deco Metropolis draws.
| Decade | The signature look | The print |
|---|---|---|
| 1930s | Streamlined bodies, sweeping wings, Deco grilles | Deco Metropolis, Speed Record |
| 1950s | Chrome, two-tone paint, tail fins | The Workshop |
| 1960s | Clean slab sides, the first muscle cars | Rear-Engine Study |
| Your own | Whatever is on your drive | Your car as art |

Gold and midnight blue look richest in a natural wood frame. For a dining room or a home bar, a 50 x 70 cm canvas of Deco Metropolis has the presence of a period travel poster.
